Celebrating Earth Day

Students joined us for Saturday Science at BioBase Harlem, where we explored this month's Earth Day theme during the 3-hour event! We collaborated with BioBus, a mobile science laboratory and education initiative that aims to bring the wonders of science to students of all ages. The BioBus team travels to different communities, providing hands-on science experiences and fostering a love for learning in the fields of biology and environmental science.
Waffle Games

More than just an affordable con, Waffle Games is a yearly celebration of what it means to be involved with gaming. Hosted at The City College of New York, the event includes panels, workshops, tournaments, and an expo hall.
Game Day at CCNY

Students participated at The City College of New York (CCNY) to play Nintendo Switch, board games, create art and vision boards, and have fun!
CCNY College Tour

Students spent a day touring CCNY STEM departments, including breakfast and check-in, admissions, illumination space field, physics club demonstrations, and a game design demo.
Misty: A Writer's Surreal Journey Through Gentrifying London

The HGS Mentoring Program took a trip to The Shed, a renowned museum located in NYC, to see the show Misty. Fusing live music, spoken word, and absurdist comedy, Misty was an exhilarating journey through a city in flux, transporting audiences to the streets of gentrifying London in an exploration of the pressures and expectations that come with being an artist in our time.
Unreleased Games Arcade
Annual Event
Harlem, NY
Hosted at CCNY, this event is an opportunity for individual game designers and companies to show off and get feedback on games currently in development. Students came to play the games, speak with their designers, and learn more about the game design process one-on-one. Refreshments included pizza, soda, and water.

The Yanomami Struggle: Art and Activism in the Amazon

The Mentoring Program organized a captivating trip to The Shed, a renowned museum located in NYC, and attended an exhibit which highlighted the Yanomami people and their ongoing struggle in the Amazon rainforest. The centerpiece of the exhibit revolved around the remarkable work of Claudia Andujar, a renowned photographer and activist. Claudia Andujar, throughout her lifetime, has dedicated herself to documenting the lives of the Yanomami people through her poignant photographs. Her activism and tireless efforts have played a significant role in raising awareness about the Yanomami and their fight to protect their ancestral lands and preserve their way of life.
Battle of the Houses
