Music + STEM =
Dubbed “the Universal Language” by scholars of many disciplines, music is a powerful force that shapes culture and moves the soul. HGS’ second pop-up, The Science of Music: From Jazz to Hip Hop, was held in April, 2019 at The City College of New York in collaboration with Our Children’s Foundation.
This three-day exhibition concentrated on two musical genres that have been prevalent in cultural experiences of minorities of all ages and walks of life.
The demonstration was geared towards middle and high school students, in addition to being open to the public. The Science of Music was a success, as it drew in over 300 visitors!
