Video Games: The Great Connector is an interactive traveling exhibition developed by the Harlem Gallery of Science that explores how young people use video games in their daily lives - emphasizing what youth do with games, rather than what games do to youth. Designed for middle and high school students, educators, caregivers, families, and general museum audiences, the exhibition uses culturally relevant content, interactive gaming stations, participatory activities, profiles of game developers, and educational resources to connect gaming with identity, community, learning, and future careers.
Video Games: The Great Connector
Connecting with Self: How games help young people shape identity, manage emotions, build skills, and explore character design.
Connecting with Community: How games foster collaboration, social connection, and awareness of the people and world around us.
Connecting with Future: How an interest in games can connect young people to the wide range of careers that make the industry possible.
