TONY LISS, Ph.D.
Dr. Tony Liss is currently the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs of The City College of New York. He joined the City College faculty in 2013 as the Martin and Michele Cohen Dean of Science and served in this capacity until his appointment as interim Provost. Dr. Liss served as a professor of physics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, from 1988 until 2013.
Dr. Liss' research in high-energy physics has taken place at the world's highest energy accelerators, including the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and the Tevatron Collider at Fermilab. He has led groundbreaking research that has resulted in the discovery of new fundamental particles, among them the top quark.
